Hello from my very adorable Airbnb in Chiang Mai, Thailand!

It’s 5am now, and I’ve been awake since 2. So I guess I’ll need more than a day to get over this pesky jet lag.

I had my first day of TEFL certification class yesterday. There are about 18 people in my class, a mix of American, Australian, English, Irish, and one Italian guy. The first day was mostly logistics and introductions, as well as an intro to English grammar and an intro Thai class.

I’m feeling really good about this move. Even being tired and overwhelmed, I haven’t felt any sort of “what the hell did I do” kind of feeling.

I’m excited to get to know the city more (once I’m capable of staying awake past 7pm), figure out where I’m going to be working, learn more and more Thai, but more than anything I’m excited for Topi to get here in about a month!
